Region

Black Sea and Eastern Europe

Two lanes running north of the Black Sea. On both, the trip is planned around the state of the border crossing points and the transit conditions on the day.

Ukraine

UA

We carry temperature-controlled cargo to Ukraine by road through Bulgaria and Romania; a variant through Moldova is also in use. While wartime conditions continue, the routing is decided shipment by shipment, in line with how the border crossing points and the unloading region stand on the day. We do not commit to a fixed route: at quotation stage we go through the unloading address and the delivery conditions with you.

Typical routing
By road through Türkiye, Bulgaria and Romania, entering Ukraine at the Siret–Porubne crossing. Transit through Moldova is considered as an alternative. The entry point is set trip by trip, depending on which crossings on the Romanian and Moldovan borders are open on the day.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer · full truckload (FTL). If equipment other than a reefer is required, we act as transport organiser rather than carrier and allocate a vehicle from our network.
Documents
CMR consignment note and TIR carnet. For bilateral and transit traffic between Türkiye and Ukraine, the transit permit (dozvol) requirement has been lifted on both sides; at the border crossing points, trucks book a slot in the electronic queue (eCherha). For perishable foodstuffs, the ATP/FRC certificate of the semi-trailer goes with the shipping documents, and any product-specific documents are confirmed before departure. Customs formalities are carried out by customs brokers; Flowen coordinates the process and the flow of documents.

Russia

RU

Traffic to Russia usually runs through Georgia: exit at Sarp, Türkgözü or Aktaş, then the Verkhniy Lars crossing on the Georgian–Russian border. In winter this crossing can close to trucks depending on weather and road conditions, so we look at routings through Azerbaijan shipment by shipment. Black Sea ro-ro connections are an option only when the service is running at the time.

Typical routing
Exit into Georgia at Sarp, Türkgözü or Aktaş, then on to Russia through Verkhniy Lars. An electronic queue applies to trucks at Verkhniy Lars. Transit through Azerbaijan and Black Sea ro-ro connections come in as alternatives, depending on how those lanes are working at the time.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer · full truckload (FTL). Where a shipment calls for other equipment, we allocate a vehicle from our network as transport organiser.
Documents
CMR consignment note and TIR carnet, plus the Russian bilateral or transit permit (dozvol). Permits are subject to quota and are released in periodic allocations. Advance electronic information must be lodged before the goods enter the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, so the transit procedure and the document flow are confirmed before departure.

Region

The Caucasus

Georgia and Azerbaijan are lanes in their own right, and together they form the first leg of the route to Central Asia.

Georgia

GE

Shipments for Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Poti are carried in our own ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailers. The Hopa–Sarp crossing along the Black Sea coast is the one most often used; on the eastern Anatolian option, the Türkgözü and Aktaş crossings in Ardahan come into play. Georgia assigns transit vehicles a compulsory exit point and route according to where they entered, so we confirm the routing before departure.

Typical routing
Mersin · Adana · Kayseri · Sivas · Black Sea coast road · Hopa · Sarp border crossing · Batumi / Tbilisi. On the eastern Anatolian option, Türkgözü (Posof) or Aktaş (Çıldır) through Ardahan.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer. The set temperature follows the figure in your loading instructions, and a temperature record is kept with a data logger throughout the trip.
Documents
Carriage is subject to the CMR Convention; the signed CMR consignment note is returned to the consignor. Depending on the trip, customs transit runs either under a TIR carnet or under the common transit procedure (T1/NCTS). For food consignments, the type of product decides whether a veterinary or phytosanitary certificate is required.

Azerbaijan

AZ

Türkiye has no land border with mainland Azerbaijan. Shipments for Baku, Ganja and Sumqayit are therefore usually routed in transit through Georgia, with the vehicle most often entering Azerbaijan at the Red Bridge crossing; for destinations in the north, Lagodekhi–Balakan can also be used. The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is entered directly at the Dilucu crossing in Iğdır; the land link between Nakhchivan and the mainland still runs through Iran.

Typical routing
Mersin · Sarp or Türkgözü · Tbilisi · Red Bridge · Ganja · Baku. For Nakhchivan: Iğdır · Dilucu · Sadarak.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer. Where the lane, the equipment type or the capacity required goes beyond our own fleet, we use our transport organiser (TİO) licence to allocate a vehicle from our network.
Documents
Azerbaijani transit permits are subject to quota; for bilateral and transit traffic, the permit is part of trip planning.

Region

Central Asia

Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are reached either through Iran or through the Caucasus with a Caspian Sea crossing.

Kazakhstan

KZ

For Kazakhstan, one common option is the Caucasus routing with a Caspian crossing: after Georgia and Azerbaijan, the ferry runs from the port of Alat south of Baku to Aktau or Kuryk. An all-road variant through Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan is also in use. Which of the two suits a shipment depends on the unloading region and on the state of the lane at the time. On the ferry leg the reefer unit runs on its own fuel; the set temperature is held as far as the ship’s rules allow, and fuel is planned accordingly.

Typical routing
Exit into Georgia at Sarp or Türkgözü · Azerbaijan · Caspian ferry from the Azerbaijani port of Alat, south of Baku, to Aktau or Kuryk · then by road towards Aktobe, Shymkent, Almaty and Astana. The all-road variant — Gürbulak into Iran, Sarahs into Turkmenistan, then the Farap–Alat crossing in the Bukhara region into Uzbekistan and on into Kazakhstan — is an alternative where the transit permits allow.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer · full truckload (FTL). On trips with a ferry leg, refuelling of the reefer unit is built into the trip plan.
Documents
CMR consignment note and TIR carnet. Transit permit (dozvol) requirements differ from country to country along the route and are subject to quota; they are checked before departure. Kazakhstan is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, so customs formalities follow EAEU legislation.

Uzbekistan

UZ

For Uzbekistan, the road route through Iran is one of the main options: exit at Gürbulak, the run across Iran, then entry into Turkmenistan at Sarahs. Turkmen transit may be run on a prescribed route, in daylight and in escorted convoy, as the rules in force at the time require; Uzbekistan is entered at the Farap–Alat crossing in the Bukhara region. The Caspian routing, from Aktau through Beyneu, is the alternative; which one is used depends on the transit permits and on the state of the lane. Because convoy running limits where the vehicle may stop, the reefer unit’s running time on a full tank and the set temperature are planned before departure.

Typical routing
Exit into Iran at Gürbulak · entry into Turkmenistan at Sarahs · crossing from Farap, near Türkmenabat, to Alat on the Uzbek side · on towards Bukhara, Samarkand and Tashkent. Reaching Aktau by Caspian ferry and entering through Karakalpakstan by way of Beyneu comes in as an alternative.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer · full truckload (FTL). If equipment other than a reefer is required, we act as transport organiser rather than carrier and allocate a vehicle from our network.
Documents
CMR consignment note, TIR carnet and the transit permits (dozvol) of the countries crossed. Turkmen transit may be subject to a prescribed route, daylight running and escorted convoy; this regime calls for complete vehicle and driver documentation.

Kyrgyzstan

KG

Türkiye has no land border with Kyrgyzstan, so the cargo transits Kazakhstan. The leg as far as Kazakhstan runs either through the Caucasus and across the Caspian or overland through Iran. Deliveries to Bishkek and the Chuy region usually go through the Karasu–Ak-Tilek crossing; the neighbouring Korday–Ak-Zhol crossing is given over mainly to passenger traffic. For southern points such as Osh and Jalal-Abad, the Bishkek–Osh road climbs over passes above 3,000 metres; in winter, snow and avalanche risk can close that section.

Typical routing
Arrival in Kazakhstan · through Shymkent and Taraz, entering Kyrgyzstan at the Karasu–Ak-Tilek crossing · Bishkek. For deliveries in the south, the Bishkek–Osh road over the Töö-Ashuu and Ala-Bel passes is used; in winter conditions, entry from the Fergana side of Uzbekistan is an option.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer · full truckload (FTL). On sections with high passes, winter equipment and the current state of the road are built into the trip plan.
Documents
CMR consignment note, TIR carnet and the transit permits (dozvol) of the countries crossed; the permit needed for Kazakh transit is subject to quota. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are members of the Eurasian Economic Union, so customs formalities follow EAEU legislation.

Tajikistan

TJ

Cargo for Tajikistan normally transits Uzbekistan. For Khujand and the Sughd region in the north, the Oybek–Fotehobod crossing is used; for Dushanbe and the west, the Denov–Tursunzoda line. Inside the country, the north–south link follows a mountain road with the Istiklol (Anzob) and Shahriston tunnels, where winter conditions and roadworks have a direct effect on planning. We therefore settle the unloading address and the delivery conditions at quotation stage.

Typical routing
Arrival in Uzbekistan · towards Khujand through the Oybek–Fotehobod crossing near Tashkent; for Dushanbe, entry at Tursunzoda by way of Denov. The mountain variant through Kyrgyzstan is considered only where road and seasonal conditions allow.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer · full truckload (FTL). If the unloading point lies in the mountains, the vehicle and the equipment are chosen accordingly; where something other than a reefer is needed, we allocate a vehicle from our network as transport organiser.
Documents
CMR consignment note and TIR carnet. Transit permit (dozvol) requirements for the countries crossed and for the country of destination change from year to year and from country to country; they are checked before departure. Customs formalities are completed on arrival in Tajikistan, and the Uzbek leg runs under transit.

Region

Europe and Northern Cyprus

In Europe: Germany, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and the Netherlands. Northern Cyprus has no land link, so the crossing is made by ro-ro.

Europe

EU

We carry temperature-controlled cargo by road to Germany, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and the Netherlands. Entry into the EU is usually made at Kapıkule, or at Hamzabeyli when the crossing is congested. Bulgaria and Romania joined the Schengen area in full on 1 January 2025: systematic border checks no longer apply at their land borders within the EU, though member states may reintroduce internal border controls for limited periods. Schengen concerns checks on persons; customs formalities for goods run separately. The goods are presented at the first customs office of entry on the EU external border, where the transit procedure is opened (TIR carnet or T1/NCTS); the import declaration is, as a rule, completed at the customs office in the country of destination. Depending on congestion at the crossings or on the state of the transit permits, we look at the Trieste ro-ro service from Mersin or Pendik; from Trieste the trip continues by road into central and western Europe. The routing is set trip by trip, according to the country of unloading and the current state of the lane.

  • Germany DE
  • Poland PL
  • Romania RO
  • Bulgaria BG
  • Netherlands NL
Typical routing
Entry into Bulgaria at Kapıkule–Kapitan Andreevo, with the Hamzabeyli–Lesovo alternative at busy times. Through Bulgaria and Romania into Hungary; from there towards Austria for Germany and the Netherlands, or towards Slovakia or Czechia for Poland. Whether we use the variant that takes the ro-ro from Mersin or Pendik to Trieste and continues from northern Italy depends on the state of the crossings and on the transit permits available.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer · full truckload (FTL). On trips with a ro-ro leg, the reefer unit runs either on the ship’s power supply or on its own fuel; which of the two applies depends on the vessel, and refuelling is built into the trip plan. If equipment other than a reefer is required, we act as transport organiser rather than carrier and allocate a vehicle from our network.
Documents
CMR consignment note, TIR carnet or a T1 (NCTS) transit declaration, together with the transit permits (dozvol) of the countries concerned; permits are subject to quota and are checked before departure. For entry into the EU, the entry summary declaration (ENS) is filed with the first customs office of entry through the EU’s common ICS2 system before arrival. For perishable foodstuffs, the ATP/FRC certificate of the semi-trailer and the product-specific documents are put in place before departure.

Northern Cyprus

There is no land link to Northern Cyprus, so the crossing is made by sea: we move cargo on the ro-ro services running from the ports of Mersin and Taşucu to Gazimağusa (Famagusta) and Girne (Kyrenia). For shipments loaded in Mersin, loading and delivery to the port both take place in our own city. On the sea leg, cooling is maintained as far as the ship’s rules allow; pre-cooling and the set temperature are planned accordingly.

Typical routing
Ro-ro crossing from the ports of Mersin and Taşucu to Gazimağusa (Famagusta) and Girne (Kyrenia). Which pair of ports is used depends on the cargo and on the unloading point.
Equipment
ATP/FRC certified reefer semi-trailer · full truckload (FTL). Continuity of cooling on the sea leg and, where needed, refuelling are built into the trip plan.
Documents
CMR consignment note and the customs declaration for the shipment; product-specific documents and the formalities on the Northern Cyprus side are confirmed shipment by shipment.
